I've noticed so many synchronicities in my life, I can't begin to list them all. Sometimes it's small, like when I call someone and they say "I was just thinking about you." Sometimes it's huge, like the way we found our house and instinctively knew we had to put in a bid that day, and 30 days later we owned it, and our agent said it's the best deal he's ever seen in his entire career. Sometimes it's "negative", like when I was having a bad day and attracting more of the same, and as I was driving I thought, "Wouldn't it be just perfect if I got a speeding ticket right now," and boom, the siren showed up behind me. But even that turned into a positive: the sudden fear about not having enough money generated a big desire, which brought in a pile of new work. And now I get to go to traffic school so I can get updated on all the new laws!
Since I started listening to Abraham, I not only notice the synchronicities, I seem to attract more of them, faster. And they often build on things that started years ago. For instance, I recently decided it would be most fun to expand my decor art and mural work for corporate and public settings. Within a few weeks, I was given two names of huge corporate art buyers, out of the blue. Then I was invited to a holiday party for a company I worked for twenty years ago, and within five minutes of walking in the door, I met someone who advises governments and corporations about which artists to hire, and he asked for my card. It just feels effortless.
Another example: a few months ago I thought it would be fun to build an online or iphone game, but initially felt discouraged because I only know how to design, not program. So I pictured a team of people who would do the work for no money. I mentioned my concept to a friend who does PR and web marketing, and she jumped onboard. She found someone who programs web and game applications, and would be willing to do it on spec. They're each doing the things I loathe -- organizing, programming, researching -- and are extremely positive and motivated. And all I have to do is design. Just like that, I have a team of people working for free!
I'm realizing, finally, that we can create our own economy. It's so tempting to look at the larger economy of the country or the world, and think, that must affect me too, and then get dragged down. Whenever I remember to do the simple things Abraham suggests -- look for positive aspects, find a better feeling thought, pet the cat, etc. -- my day improves, and little openings abound. I get a fun, well-paying job out of the blue. A painting sells. Someone calls with a new opportunity. I get a crazy idea and suddenly it manifests. And next thing I know, I'm doing well "despite the odds," and enjoying my work more than ever. This has happened to me ever since I found Abraham -- and the only thing that keeps me from staying consistently in abundance is my resistance. And my need to generate more desire from the contrast, which then creates more abundance. It's amazing to me how all this really works like Abraham says!
This Abraham group is a perfect example of how quickly and effortlessly things can manifest. I wish all of you a wonderful year -- 2009 is our best yet. I would love to hear some more stories!
